Energy storage systems will play a central role in future power generation with increasing fluctuation rates in terms of wind and photovoltaic plants. It is important to keep the load and generation in balance without having large overcapacities or load dumping.
There is a wide need for energy storage in terms of storage time as well as storage capacity. The large technological range of these storage systems and concepts offers solutions for every application
Pumped Storage Power plants represent an indispensable technology, which has been tried and tested for many years due to its high efficiency of about 80% as well as the degree of technological maturity.
Description and aim of the event:
The conference will present the most important storage technologies, focusing on the technical aspects, operation, and system relevance. Experts will demonstrate the political, economic, technical and social conditions that exist for each type of storage system, and show the outlook for the future. Finally, there will be a discussion on which electrical storage technologies are future-proof and what role they will plan in the future energy supply.
